Papero is a Bavarian company that goes an innovative way: it produces backpacks, bags and wallets from robust power paper - one of the most resistant papers worldwide.
Most of the power paper consists of cellulose fibers from conifers such as spruce or pine. Unlike conventional paper, it is not made by grinding, but by a mechanical-chemical process that delivers particularly tear-resistant fibers. For use as a durable pocket material, the paper is also impregnated with natural latex. This becomes water -repellent and receives a textile feel.
The history of the paper shows how much materials have shaped our culture - from expensive parchment to book pressure paper to mass goods made of wood grinding. Power paper, on the other hand, today sets a strong sign of durability, resource conservation and creative material use - and becomes a stylish statement for sustainable design at Papero.
